Knowcast - 005 - Embrace your vulnerability
Your weekly summary of wisdom straight into your inbox
Hi guys,
This week’s focus will be: vulnerability.
I know it’s a familiar topic for everyone, but I also know that it’s something we prefer to not show the world.
👉 To walk the talk myself, I’ve uploaded a video of something I recently did what initially scared the hell out of me - telling a story on stage in front of unknown people.
If I can do it, you can definitely do it as well.
Stop seeking the validation of others.
Most people don't even know you exist.
Your successes, your failures, they don't matter much:
You should first and foremost live for yourself.

By now, it shouldn’t be the biggest surprise that I like those two guys and whenever they team up, I’m more excited than normal.
In this great episode, Lewis opens up from a really personal space.
He shares how he carried trauma of sexual abuse around for more than 20 years before opening up to anyone. He continues to share stories about how he started personal challenges to overcome his fears - from salsa dancing to asking out girls in high school. This episode really hits the core of overcoming fear and embracing your vulnerable side with a beautiful end goal in mind: truly loving oneself.

Overcoming fear of public speaking, being super uncomfortable, and sharing a personal story. I managed to do it all during my time on stage at Mezrab - the house of storytelling.

We overestimate the importance of a lot of pain today and underestimate the importance of small amounts of pain spread out over years. Therefore, we remain stuck.

As closing words, I want to share the following statement;
Vulnerability buys you a lot. It buys you to look how you want, to say what you want, and to do what you want.
To me, that pretty much sounds like absolute freedom, right?
See you next week, have a blissful week!
